Navy and Fuchsia move on for 2015

Two of my favorite (and also two of the year's most popular) colors in 2014 were navy and fuchsia. I just adore those two colors. I predict that navy and fuchsia will continue to be popular in 2015, particularly the first half of the year.

You've already seen me wear this navy skirt with an ivory button down shirt before, but here I'm wearing it with an embroidered ivory cardigan, ivory belt with gold arrow accents, a fuchsia layering tee, and fuchsia pumps. I wore this outfit yesterday at Church for a very subtle color pop, not that I'm against color pop at all, but feeling how cold it was I wanted it to be a little more subtle. Didn't want it to stand out too much but still be super girly and pretty. Plus it was a great way to still rock the fuchsia shoes in the cold (here in the desert where I live winter time feels more like the autumn in other places). :)

Skirt is a thrifty find from Goodwill.
Layering tee, belt, and jewelry are from First & Chic.
Cardigan is from Gap (discontinued).

Fuchsia lips have also been very popular during 2014 and will continue to be for 2015. Personally, when wearing fuchsia lipstick I do not want it to look neon so I use a a tiny bit of mauve lip gloss at the end to tone it down a bit and it does the trick. Just perfect. My lips do not need to match the fuchsia in my outfit perfectly. The goal is to enhance the lips for a more natural look. Speaking of "au naturale," I chose to put my naturally super curly hair up in a bun for a more natural look as well. You will notice I love high buns. I didn't wear it down but I promise I will some time.

For the lips, I used:

L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Extraordinaire liquid lipstick in Pink Tremolo #105
Let me tell you something about this lipstick, it is soooooo yummy! I love this product so much. Not only will your lips look great with this line but they smell amazing too. A mix of fragrance with a little bit of a fruity smell, just lovely.

Maybelline Color Sensational lip color in Fuchsia Fever #140

L'Oreal Paris Infallible Never Fail lip gloss in Modern Mauve #505

For my lashes I used Younique's 3D Fiber Lashes. My lashes are naturally very small but this mascara with the 3D fibers are AH-MAZE-ING! I just absolutely love this product.

Go ahead and wear fuchsia, I dare ya! Send me pics or links cause I would love to see what you come up with. :)

Red & Leopard are always a good idea

So you have a leopard print skirt, or shoes, or handbag? And do you (pretty sure you do) also have something red in your wardrobe too. Combine the two for a classic and super shmexy combination.

The jacket, red top, skinny belt, and black skirt were all great finds at Goodwill.
Necklace was purchased from a mall booth/cart in Las Vegas.
Shoes are from White House Black Market (one of my favorite stores) and are discontinued.

In this outfit I pulled two neutral colors from the shoes, black and beige. I used a black pencil skirt and a beige wool jacket, which are a wardrobe staple for fall and winter. I combined it with a nice red top and statement necklace for a nice color pop. Perfection! Plus the jacket was great for hiding love handles. Yes I do have them but you couldn't tell by this outfit thanks to this nice thrifty jacket I got from Goodwill.

And remember, leopard prints also come in black and white. Here's another outfit idea using a black and white tie-waist leopard coat. The pop of red is beautiful and navy of the jeans plus the gold metal accents and jewelry make it even better and add substance to the outfit.

In both outfits you will notice that I only chose one piece in the outfit to have the leopard print. This goes along with one of my top fashion tips - "Don't kill a print. Instead, complement it." A scarf and shoes in leopard print work well together as well because they do not overtake the outfit, scarves are accessories and pairing an accessory with a pattern in your outfit is OK so long as they do not constitute a super large portion of the outfit.

Here's another way to see how to use leopard prints using a leopard print dress which constitutes a large portion of the outfit. However, it is toned down a bit by pairing it with black accessories with gold accents and pearl and gold jewelry.
